Grey & Ivy’s two-week Design+Build workshop in Berens River introduced students to the fundamentals of design, architecture, and building. The workshop focused on sketching, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and creatively leveraging students’ gaming interests to enhance their understanding of the design process. Progressing from initial hesitation to active engagement, students utilized digital and physical tools to explore architectural concepts like site analysis and function, culminating in designing tiny homes. Their increased involvement and capability in using new technologies demonstrated the workshop’s success in making complex design concepts accessible and engaging.
